NEW ALBUM "SOURCERY" AND LEAD SINGLE "HEART MATTERS" ANNOUNCED ON THE CHAMBERS PROJECT

[GRASS VALLEY, CA, Jan. 2022 —] The Chambers Project is proud to announce the
upcoming release of electronic music producer, A Path Untold's, new album "Sourcery" on
Feb.22, 2022. The release will be the debut musical output on the platform which otherwise
consists of internationally celebrated psychedelic visual artists such as Ralph Steadman,
Mars-1 and Oliver Vernon. The highly anticipated 10-track album is a richly diverse, deeply
melodic, bass heavy excursion through otherworldly territories, unifying a vast array of genre
influences with a captivating cinematic aesthetic. Featuring iconic artwork created by respected
painter Miles Toland, the album centers around themes of infinity, unity, duality, boundless
consciousness exploration and creative ritual. The album will be available on all streaming
platforms on Feb.22, with a deluxe Gatefold 2xLP vinyl package with extended artwork set for
release in early summer 2022. To set the stage for the full album, the lead single “Heart
Matters” will be released on Feb. 11, as a way to build excitement and awareness.

"Sourcery" is the third full length album by A Path Untold, aka producer/composer Daniel Merrill,
who has been creating and releasing under the moniker since 2015. It is the most ambitious,
intricate and intentional record he’s created so far. In relation to past works, it is ever more
evocative and far-reaching in it’s scope, resulting in a progression of songs designed to
transform the dancefloor into sacred space and back again, while providing an evolving,
enthralling ride that facilitates as much of an inner journey as listeners want to take. The album
draws on genre elements from future garage, deep/slow house, ambient downtempo, medicine
music and a variety of multicultural flavors. These elements, as a sonic lexicon, serve to build
and explore a deeply moody, symphonic, emotional world, filled with a sense of mysterious
enchantment, spirits and the eternal relationship of opposites.

One of the album’s most consistent approaches is the interaction of dualistic elements in each
song, illustrating balance and transmutation between them. This is achieved by unifying themes
of organic/synthetic, melancholic/euphoric and ancient/futuristic, using a variety of compositional
techniques. A primary approach, for example, is the transformation of sounds from the natural
world into layers of fantastical, suprahuman instruments that interact together to form unique
melodic and harmonic tapestries. In addition, all of this occurs against a continual backdrop of
textural, elemental soundscapes that utilize processed field recordings to provide a tangible
sense of place. Songs like the slow-house oriented “Spiritus'' represent the spooky and more
mysterious phases of the journey, which then give way to danceable songs like “Heart Matters”
which embodies, in contrast, light, uplifting bliss, return and resolution. This distinct sense of
novel experience strives toward being a soundtrack to life itself, from the sacred to the
mundane, as layers unfold according to what state of consciousness the listener is in.
The first half of the album was written and developed during the first year of the pandemic in
Baltimore, MD - a city already highlighted by its struggles, which were amplified by COVID-19
and the isolation of lockdown life. This provided a visceral foundation that served as both
emotive inspiration for ideas and a therapeutic way to make sense of it all. The creation of the
album quite literally prompted the opportunity to relocate to Grass Valley, CA, where the second
half was written and completed between an isolated off-grid cabin (deep in the forests of the
Sierra Nevadas) and Daniel’s studio space in the brand new Chambers Project gallery
compound. The influence of these contrasting locations is apparent in the music itself and
embodies the same level of balanced duality the album strives to express - while further
exemplifying concepts most of the world has been experiencing: embracing the unknown,
claiming hope through creativity, growth through adversity and emerging from a process of
metamorphosis.

A Path Untold's music has found dedicated support throughout a variety of cultural contexts and
demographics, ranging from medicine ceremonies and private listening spaces to packed
dancefloors in clubs, festivals and art galleries. It lends itself to creating a universal balance
between individual and collective, while thoughtfully maintaining a focus on both dancefloor
movement and headphone intimacy.

Speaking on the album, Daniel explains: "Simply put, this is an album about tapping into a
relationship with infinity - and creating from that place. It’s meant to serve as a lucid auditory,
sensory experience that hopefully translates to other people the same sensation of drawing
upon limitlessness, boundless exploration, and oneness. It’s meant to be a testament to, and a
devotional manifestation of that experience.
